How is the language different in your novel? How does it reflect the time period of the novel?

My book is about a girl from England who is going to be riding the titanic to the United States. The book takes place in 1912. In the book, the language and words the people used is very different from today. They talk more proper and use a lot of old words and bigger words. For example: "I feel rather a fool, midst of a clumsy declamation, trifle, I should be delighted, endeavored to be discreet" These are all things she says writing in her journal so this is probably how she talked all the time.
My book is called Kepping Corner and it is about a girl who is from Gujarat,India.Who life is aboutto change for the worst whe her fiance' dies.The language in this book is indian and it is used for when tha narrator is trying portray how the main characters would talk to each other in real life.
In my book is about a girl from Spain who is trying to be married off. The language from back then is way different from today’s language. They use more proper words and use higher vocabulary then we do today. For Example: "In two weeks I shall be eighteen. Time moves exceedingly slow. I am so tired of my every action being spied upon and reported to El Zorro (one of her nicknames for a king), who then passes it on to Enrique. (Isabel’s brother)." This is part of a paragraph she wrote in her journal, which indicates how she talked.
The language used in this book has a southern dialect to it. The girl who narrates this book uses words such as "ain't" and "y'all" and calls her parents "Mama and Papa."
my book, shadows on the sea, there are some people who talk in german. this reflects the time period because at this time germans were known as villian type people and many people ridiculed people who spoke german. also people spoke with a kind of country talk. for example:one character says "it makes 'em feel important, i guess. Idon't want to join, anyhow."
The language in my book is very early southeren. The narrator(a little girl named harper Flute) uses a lot of southeren dialect. For example, she calls her mother "MA" and her father "DA". and she uses expessions like "ain't", "ya'll",and "tan my hide"
My book is about a boy is a slave and tries to live with his mother and sister, Lulu. While he was still living on the plantion of Dr. James Norcom, Joseph's friend would help teach him how to write since he couldn't go to school. He spoke English, but had very bad grammar and he is working on it everyday when he gets a chance. Later, in Boston, Massachusetts his mother sends him to school which helps improve his grammar a little bit because a couple months later he is not welcomed at the school.
In my book "A Day No Pigs Would Die" the main character, Rob, calls his parents 'Mama' and 'Papa' too. The only difference is that he's from the north not the south.
My book is called "So far from home" .the languange in this book is different by the way the charectars used words in every other sentence.For ex. "i walk carefully as not to fall" and "Thus shall not lead" .Because of this you can tell that since there southern ,they probaly have an different accent

In my book Marie Antoinette, the language that is being spoken varies. For instance when Marie's family went to schonbrunn they spoke like when they were not queens and Princesses. Then when Marie Antoinette arrives at Versailles she speaks French which she has to be quite fluent in. However, Marie Antoinette has to be able to read and write and to speak other languages fluently and be able to understand and interpt other cultures.
In "Mine Eyes Have Seen", which took place in the early 1860's, uses a lot of proper language, but the main character, Annie Brown, who is still a child, sounds like one compared to the adults in the book. For example, Annie Brown says, "Grandpa Owen told us how his mother was left with ten children to care for...In the winter of '78 and '79, he said, the snows were so deep they had to go out into the fields and find the livestock and dig them out, lest they starve and die." The language used in this paragraph isn't what we would use today. Words like lest aren't used anymore. One of Annie's sister's friends says this, "Write it down,do. See if it helps." You can tell the way the characters speak shows that the book takes place a while back. The context that they talk in shows us that the English coming to the states had an impact on their language.
